Yarmouth Oilskins Engineers Jacket - Navy
In the 1930's Yarmouth Stores carried a range of ‘singlets and shirts’ from the 'Cruising Shirt, the Sports Shirt and the Tunic Shirt in latest designs'. The Maritime Shirt takes inspiration from the original Flannel Army Shirts featured in the 1930 catalogue.
This Edition
This edition uses a heavy 300gsm 100% cotton moleskin in deep navy, dyed and finished in the U.K.
The styling references the heavy sailor’s shirts that were historically worn layered for warmth as protection from the bracing North Sea winds. It has two generous buttoned chest pockets , and two vertical side hip pockets. The collar is a neat rounded shape. The glossy, black corozo buttons contrast beautifully against this unbleached fabric. There are four stitched under arm eyelets for ventilation.
If it’s good enough to wear at sea, it’s good enough for us. Yarmouth Oilskins was founded as a workwear brand for fishermen and produces quality, durable heavy smocks, waxed cloth engineered jackets, knitwear and work trousers that fit seamlessly into your modern wardrobe.
