Taking inspiration from the traditional Grandfather collar shirt - originally worn by workers, farmers and factory hands during the 1920's and 30's. The story goes that since these trades didn’t wear a tie for fear of it getting stuck in the machinery, as a result they adopted a shirt with a simple band collar. The original Admiralty Shirt features in the Yarmouth Oilskins 1930s catalogue "as supplied to H.M. Government".

The brand use a yarn dyed twill weave cloth ,which is a cotton - linen blend. The linen gives the fabric a great rumpled appearance with the occasional slub which gets even better when it’s washed and worn.The style is collarless with a narrow stand collar band, and a half front placket. They have used Codelite buttons made in England from milk casein as they would have been 100 years ago, which is bio-degradable, sustainable and traceable.
