British Colour Standard Handmade Eco Candleholder in Jet Black (Size L)
This handmade pale grey recycled wood candle holder is ethically made in India using waste off cuts from the furniture industry that would otherwise be wasted. In a simple, contemporary style the wood is turned and painted in Gull Grey, part of the extensive colour pallette from the British Colour Standard range, the copy right to which was purchased by the London based design company, Designed in Colour. Each colour is unique to them and has a significance to British history. This particular candle holder is in a lovely soft pale grey known as Gull Grey.
The candle holder fits dinner or taper candles and looks particularly good with the complementary range of plain and stripe candles also from Designed in Colour (see the separate listing for the range of candles available from Bill & Edna).
Each candle holder is complete with a black pad on the base to protect furniture and arrives in a smart branded gift box and so would also make an ideal gift.
British Colour Standard was revived by art and design duo Jackie Piper and Victoria Whitbread, after they found an old colour dictionary in a charity shop. The pair brought the hues found hidden in the book’s pages back to life, realising them across a range of well-crafted homeware products that boast sustainable, ecological or Fair Trade provenance. Mix and match from the rainbow of colours across the candle and candlestick collection, or treat your table to a set of vibrant jute placemats and eye-catching handmade glassware.
